Mahseer & Trout
Fishing - 2010/2011:
The
Mahseer,
India
’s premier sport fish can be found in many of the larger rivers. In the
South they can grow up to 50 kilos while in the northern rivers they can
reach 30 kilos. These tours take us to some of the most prolific spots and
provide great opportunities to experience the wonderful surroundings.
Tiger, wild elephant and rhino may be silent spectators. Catfish may also
be found, these can grow in excess of 200 kilos. The tour price does not
include the cost of the international and internal flights. We can arrange
all flights should you require.
We
have been exploring the beautiful rivers of our home state – Himachal
Pradesh. They contain both mahseer, and higher up, brown and rainbow
trout. The brown trout were originally imported from
Loch Leven
in the 19th century, and can attain weights of over 10 lbs.
North India: Fly to
Delhi
and then travel by road to the Kumaon region of Utter Pradesh, or up to
Himachal Pradesh.

once made famous by the number of man-eating tigers and leopards
that used to inhabit the region. We will either walk to our
charming, riverside camps or use inflatable rafts to get to some

Exploratory
Fishing Trips:
Exploratory trips are being planned to further
locations, including Burma Generally speaking these are much reduced in
cost to reflect the greater uncertainty. If you want to participate in
these informal tours please call for further information. Our special
Mahseer Fishing brochure provides greater information and a more
comprehensive detailed itinerary for each of the tours mentioned above. We
can provide technical advice and a guide to the most suitable equipment
for those people seriously considering one of these tours. We are taking
bookings up to the year 2010/2011 at present. It is essential you book in
good time since places are limited to a maximum of 6 to 8 anglers per
tour.
