Nile Perch Fishing Itinerary

There really is no better way to describe 900 tons of water crashing through a tight gorge every second than by letting a picture do it...

And fish live in there... giant fish!

Best Fishing times:

Mid February to early March (commencing rains) or Mid August to early September (after the rains)

We have been organising fishing trips to this region for a number of years now and have arranged the itinerary as shown to ensure you get the maximum from this exciting adventure.

Included in the cost of this tour.

All transportation in Uganda. All food and accommodation. Game drive towards Lake Albert. Sightseeing boat trip from Paras Junction to Murchison Falls. Daily use of jeep for journey between Sambiya River Lodge and Murchison Falls.

Not included in the cost of this tour.

Fishing tackle and equipment – a list of suggested tackle will be provided.

The fairly steep government charges for National Park entry fees and fishing permits are being reviewed  (hopefully downwards). You will be notified before departure of the latest up to date charges.

International flights – see below.

Tips, gratuities, laundry, drinks, telephone calls, items of a personal nature. Travel Insurance - this is compulsory and a condition of joining the tour.

Options

It is possible to charter a boat and go fishing in some areas that are normally inaccessible by foot.  The cost is around $300 per day – to be shared amongst those interested.  We would then arrange a trip or trips – usually some time around Days 8 to 12.

Extensions – staying on

If you would like to stay longer and carry on fishing, or visit some of the other great attractions in Uganda we can assist in the planning, and can help make the necessary arrangements.

Health

Some inoculations are compulsory or advisable. We have some information, but your GP will advise on all the latest up to date requirements and precautions you will need to take regarding malaria etc.

International flights.

We have separated the cost of the air fare from the tour price since some people can use ‘air miles’, or are travelling from countries other than the UK. We deal with many airlines and will take care of all flight arrangements should you require. The cost of a flight to Entebbe from London is around £425 plus taxes.

Tour Cost

The cost of this tour for 2005/6 is £1450. The international flight from the UK costs £425 - £550 plus tax.
